A computer is useful for a home office, a student room or a quick test of your playlist. VLC, the free player from VideoLAN, can open a Fox IPTV playlist link directly. If your email contains a username and password instead of a playlist link, use a desktop player that offers an account login.

Opening Fox IPTV in VLC

Install VLC from VideoLAN
Download VLC only from videolan.org or your computer’s official app store, and install it as normal.

Open the network stream window
Windows: Media › Open Network Stream. Mac: File › Open Network.

Paste your playlist link
Paste the complete link from your email into the URL field and select Play or Open.

Show the playlist
Once playback starts, open View › Playlist (Windows) or Window › Playlist (Mac) to see and switch channels.

Search for a channel
Use the search box in the playlist panel to jump to a channel by name.

Save it for next time
On a computer only you use, save the playlist from VLC’s Media or File menu so you do not have to paste the link again.
After setup
Quick check on the computer
Two or three minutes of checks now saves guesswork later. Do these before changing any player settings.

Play one channel for a minute, then switch to another from the playlist.

Use full screen and check the picture stays smooth.

Close VLC and reopen your saved playlist to confirm it loads.
If something goes wrong
Windows and Mac problems and fixes
Find the message or symptom you see. If a fix does not help, contact support with your device model, player name and the exact wording on screen.
VLC says it cannot open the address
Copy the link again from your email and make sure the whole address was pasted without spaces.
The playlist opens but a channel will not play
Try another channel. If none play, check your firewall prompt allowed VLC to use the network.
The picture stutters
Pause cloud backups and downloads, close heavy browser tabs and try a network cable.
There is no programme guide in VLC
VLC focuses on playback and does not show a full TV guide. Use a desktop IPTV player with guide support if you want one.
macOS blocks VLC from opening
Install VLC from the official site, then allow it in System Settings › Privacy & Security. Do not bypass warnings for apps from unknown sources.
VLC closes while loading
Update VLC, restart the computer and close other memory-heavy apps before opening the playlist again.
