Watch Fox IPTV on a Smart TV or set-top box

Smart TVs made by Samsung and LG do not use Google Play, and Apple TV and MAG-style boxes work differently again, so this page keeps a separate route for each. If your television runs Android TV or Google TV instead, use that guide; if you plug in a Fire TV stick, use the Fire TV guide.

Pick your platform
Follow only the route for the platform you have — the menus and login methods are not interchangeable.
Setup route
Samsung Smart TV (Tizen)

Open Apps from the Samsung home bar
Press Home, go to Apps and use the search icon. Older models may call this Smart Hub.

Install a player listed for your TV
Choose an IPTV player listed in the Samsung store for your model year and install it. Listings change, so choose one that is currently offered for your TV.

Add the playlist the way the player asks
If the player shows a device code or MAC address, open the player’s own website on a phone or computer, enter that code and paste the playlist link from your Fox IPTV email. Otherwise enter the details directly on the TV.

Restart the player and test
Close and reopen the player so it picks up the playlist, then play a channel and use the remote to return to the list.
Setup route
LG Smart TV (webOS)

Open the LG Content Store
Press Home, open Apps or LG Content Store and search from the TV.

Install a webOS IPTV player
Pick a player listed for your webOS version. Some ask you to upload the playlist on their website, as with Samsung.

Add your Fox IPTV playlist
Follow the player’s own instructions to add the playlist link or login from your email. Keep the device code private.

Refresh and test
Use the player’s update or refresh option, wait for the channel list, and check a couple of channels with the LG remote.
Setup route
Apple TV (tvOS)

Search the App Store
Open the App Store on Apple TV and search with the Siri Remote.

Install a player that accepts IPTV logins
Choose a player whose listing mentions playlist (M3U) or account login support.

Add your details
Choose the matching login type and enter the details from your email. The iPhone keyboard prompt can help with long addresses.

Load, play and check the guide
Wait for channels to appear, play one, and check that programme information shows where the player supports it.
Setup route
MAG-style set-top box

Find the box’s MAC address
Open Settings › System information (or the label on the underside of the box) and note the MAC address. Send it to Fox IPTV privately when you request this setup format.

Open the portal settings
Go to Settings › System settings › Servers › Portals, or the nearest equivalent on your box’s menu.

Enter the portal address
Type the portal address from your Fox IPTV email into Portal 1 and give it a name. Save the settings.

Restart the box
Reboot from the menu. The portal should load the channel list automatically; then test a channel and the guide.
After setup
Quick check on the TV
Two or three minutes of checks now saves guesswork later. Do these before changing any player settings.

Turn the TV off and on again and confirm the player or portal reopens without asking for your details.

Play two or three channels you watch often.

Check that the remote moves between channel groups and the guide.
If something goes wrong
Smart TV and box problems and fixes
Find the message or symptom you see. If a fix does not help, contact support with your device model, player name and the exact wording on screen.
No IPTV player appears in my TV’s store
Older models and some regions have fewer apps. Adding a Fire TV stick or Google TV device to a spare HDMI port is often the simplest alternative.
The player shows a code but no channels
Players that use a device code need the playlist to be added on their website first. Add it, then restart the player on the TV.
MAG box shows “Portal not found”
Check the portal address was typed exactly and that the MAC address you sent matches the one in System information.
Channels stop and start
Use a network cable if the TV has a port, restart the TV fully from the power button, and test another channel to see if the problem is general.
The TV is slow to respond
Fully power the TV off for a minute, close other apps and check for a system update. Older TVs can be slower with large channel lists.
Screen mirroring does not work
Casting and AirPlay depend on the player, phone and TV all supporting the same feature. Playing directly on the TV is usually more reliable.

Check whether it runs Google TV, Android TV or Fire TV and use that guide. If it runs another system, contact support with the brand and model.
Why do some TV players need a website to add the playlist?
Typing long addresses with a TV remote is slow, so some players ask you to upload the playlist from a phone or computer and link it with a device code.
